The Arduino RFID Door Lock Shield allows your Arduino to control a door lock using an electric strike plate and one of a number of commonly-available RFID modules, and is based on the circuit described in the "RFID Access Control System" project in the book "Practical Arduino".

Connections:

  • Manual strike release connection
  • Status LED connection
  • RFID reader connection

LEDs:

  • Power LED: Indicates that 5V is present on the Arduino
  • 12V in LED: Shows that an external power source is connected
  • 12V out LED: Shows that the door strike output is activated
